Passing a pre-employment background check, which may include a physical examination and drug screen, is required prior to employment. The City may use a third party service to conduct a background check. This vendor may include a credit report; however, the City does not intend to use the information gleaned from the credit report for employment decisions. Nonetheless, a separate notice advising you of your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act will be sent to you prior to the procurement of any consumer credit report as part of this reporting process. In the event a consumer report is requested, the City will obtain prior written authorization from you.
